Family Fun Halloween Activities at Share Discovery Village

Prep is underway at Share Discovery Village right here in Fermanagh for one of our BIGGEST events of the year – Halloween!

No need to look further for things to do in the run up to Halloween. This year we have lots of spooky activities that you can choose from including the long awaited return of our Big Howl Event – the family friendly Halloween event in our arena hall where all children under 1 go free. Our activities start on Tuesday 25th October and run right until Halloween night, so there’s plenty of time to have fun with the kids at Share.

Why not start preparing your Halloween costumes now? With the cost of living increasing, many families are looking for ways to make their money go further. We encourage participants to come dressed up to the activities, so why not try a DIY homemade costume this year? For the kids, check out this website for some low-cost inspiration: https://www.netmums.com/halloween-and-bonfire-night/easy-last-minute-halloween-costumes-for-kids/15-demon-dentist. And not forgetting about the adults, have a look at: https://costumes.lovetoknow.com/Adult_Costume_Ideas to find a budget friendly answer to the question ‘What should I be for Halloween?’.

Now that you’ve got your costume sorted, why not play a round or two of our Creepy Combat Corps at Share? Our most popular land activity is back with a twist – you might not be alone in the woods… Lit up with flickering lanterns and located deep in the middle of a forest, you will have to blast your way to victory surrounded by enemies. You have 1 hour to defeat your frightful foes in games such as team deathmatch, free for all and squads. As the darkness falls, the combat zone gets even spookier, so we advise younger kids to come earlier.

Once you’ve finished with our Creepy Combat Corps, why not participate in our scary Halloween event – the Haunted Forest Walk? As you enter through the gates, there’s no way to go but forward. When you realise there’s no turning back, you begin to see ghostly figures emerge from the shadows. These alarming apparitions appear in the week before Halloween and they’re coming for you! Follow along our winding path and you will hear the musings of our horrible hag in the shadowy hut, be exposed to creepy ghouls and hopefully come out of the forest alive! We’ll see you at the exit…

On Saturday 29th October we have our Big Howl Event coming back for 2022! This is located in our Big Hall, making it the perfect indoor Halloween activity. Will you choose to be a wicked witch or a ghostly ghoul at our face painting stand? Or maybe try your luck at some of our Halloween games or let your inner Picasso out at our arts and crafts table. Come dressed up in your best Halloween costume to take part in our fancy dress competition throughout the night, and while you’re exploring the big hall, enter into a vibrant world in our UV room or jump to the sky on our bouncy castle. Whatever the age, there is something for everyone to experience in the Big Howl Event!

After the Big Howl Event, finish off the night with the dazzling Fireworks Display right here on our campsite grounds! Wonder at the marvellous colours catapulting upwards and lighting the night sky with red bursts, purple swirls and yellow flashes.

Throughout each evening, The Village Cafẻ will be open for hot drinks and hot food so you can warm up and treat yourself to something nice. In addition, the whole month of October, on top of our normal menu, why not try some of our October Specials! Arrive early and fill yourself up with a breakfast panini or some pancakes with a selection of toppings? Maybe you’ll choose some honey or nutella drizzled over the top, or you might opt for some Greek yoghurt instead? For lunch, you could choose to fill your stomach with our chicken vol-au-vents prepared freshly in our kitchen, or go for our beef ciabatta complete with mushrooms, onions and peppered sauce. Keep an eye on our social media page https://www.facebook.com/thevillagecafeatshare/ for updates on menus, opening times and any other information.

As with all our events, the Halloween activities may sell out fast so hurry to our website and book early to avoid disappointment!
