Orienteering is an outdoor sport where the participants are challenged to find the checkpoints (or ‘controls’) with the use of a specially drawn, large-scale coloured map. Learn the art of navigation and map reading then compete with your friends to see who is the quickest to find the clues around the SHARE site or our cross country course on Trannish Island. Our recently developed portable and fixed orienteering courses can be tailored to suit any age group or ability.
Session Length: 2.5 hour session or 1 hour session split with another land activity
Min Age: 6 years old
Booking Type: Groups can choose Orienteering as part of a Day Booking or a Residential Programme.
All our instructors are trained to British Orienteering Federation standards and can provide training courses for teachers so that they can bring the excitement of running orienteering sessions to the school playground. SHARE can also provide orienteering courses to meet GCSE and A Level Physical Education Standards, as well as junior course for younger participants.
